The Hidden Reality: Incineration of Cultural Media

In France, used CDs and vinyl records do not benefit from an accessible recycling system.
  Most of them are directed towards incineration.

CDs are made of polycarbonate and aluminium layers.
  Vinyl records are composed of PVC.

These complex materials make recycling difficult and uncommon.

Why Are CDs and Vinyl Records Hard to Recycle?

Unlike paper or glass, CDs consist of fused layers that require specific industrial separation.
  Vinyl records made of PVC are also challenging to process within traditional recycling systems.

As a result, cultural media often end up treated as ordinary waste.

Reuse: A Simple and Immediate Solution

Before recycling, there is reuse.

Reusing a CD or vinyl record prevents its destruction and extends its life without heavy industrial transformation.

Reuse fits naturally within a sustainable and responsible approach.

Transforming a Disc Destined for Destruction into Living Art

This is where my artistic work begins.

I collect CDs, DVDs and vinyl records intended for disposal.
  I clean them, prepare them and transform them into unique hand-painted artworks.

Each disc becomes:

- a circular art piece

- a numbered unique creation

- a symbol of second life

- a tangible alternative to incineration

Changing the Way We See What We Throw Away

Reusing is an ecological act.
  Creating from discarded materials is an artistic act.

Through my recycled CD and vinyl artworks, I explore a different ending — one of transformation, preserved memory and sustainable creativity.
